Volunteering Feels Good!
We are looking for generous and loving volunteers to join our
clinical staff and spend some quality time with our patients.
Our volunteers serve as an integral part of our team.
As one of our team members your role is one of service
and providing companionship and support. You can touch
people’s lives just by being you. Your time is an invaluable
gift to those we serve, their caregivers, and our staff.
Our volunteers’ goal is to provide companionship to our patients.
One of the greatest gifts you can give to another is your time.
Below are some examples of what this would look like…
Be present • Provide a listening ear • Tell a story • Sing
Read a book • Play cards • Help record the patient's life / write letters
Take the patient for a walk • Provide respite for the caregiver
Lead an activity in a facility • Pet Therapy • Assist in the office
11th hour volunteers - sit with (at a bedside) a patient who is actively dying.
The biggest thing our volunteers can do is, be a friend.
Our volunteers WILL NOT be asked to…
Provide medical attention • Help ambulate the patientDrive/transport the patient
Help the patient go to the bathroom • Housework, dishes or laundry
Experience
No experience or medical background is necessary. We will provide a (free) detailed
training covering all aspects of hospice. We want to ensure that you are comfortable
and have a basic understanding of what to expect and what you will be doing.
Commitment
There is no specific time requirement that you need to meet. We appreciate
whatever time you are able to give our patients, even if it is just a quick stop to
say hello. We offer flexible scheduling and commitments that work around your
busy life! With locations in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah we are
able to match you with a location and setting that works for you.
